Engaging the Global Esports Community: Coverage of the Esports World Cup for Team Falcons

The Esports World Cup campaign for Team Falcons aimed to provide dynamic coverage of the tournament, specifically for the game Overwatch 2. As the largest esports team in the Middle East, Team Falcons sought engaging and attractive designs to captivate their audience. By leveraging social media platforms, the project targeted the global esports community, particularly those invested in the World Cup, ensuring a memorable and immersive experience for fans.

Navigating Challenges to Capture the Perfect Shot

The project presented a unique challenge in selecting a distinct direction, with the primary hurdle being the sourcing of appropriate images. Working remotely, I couldn’t attend the media day to secure the desired poses, making the photoshoot particularly demanding. However, by sending a detailed PDF to the photographer outlining the necessary poses, lighting, and camera lens specifications, we successfully achieved the right visuals. Additionally, collaborating with the team upfront allowed me to incorporate each player’s favorite champions, enhancing the overall appeal of the project.

A Successful Collaboration and Valuable Lessons Learned

I’m thrilled with the overall outcome of the project, having created designs I had always hoped to bring to life. Both the client and the audience expressed their satisfaction with the graphics showcased during the coverage. This project also taught me how to work under pressure, as the images arrived just 12 hours before the campaign launched, introducing a level of stress I hadn’t encountered before. Ultimately, the experience was both challenging and enjoyable, further fueling my passion for graphic design.
